Catherine’s interest in health started as a teenager and has developed into a fascination with all aspects of health and healing. She undertook nurse training before having children but this didn’t satisfy her desire to find out the causes of illness or what could be done to stay healthy. Having a child with allergies led her to look outside of general medicine to try and find some answers. The effectiveness of this route led her to train as a complementary therapist herself.
Catherine trained as an Aromatherapist in 1998, and followed this with training in Healing and Reflexology. Taking the plunge to become totally self employed as a therapist in 2000, she quickly developed a busy successful practice, using Aromatherapy and Reflexology to rebalance the body and then allowing the body to heal itself. But Catherine still felt there was something missing. The therapies she used weren’t getting to the root of what caused the body to be out of balance in the first place. Without finding and ‘healing’ the cause all healing can come undone. This frustration led Catherine to carry on looking for answers, this search led her to Health Kinesiology.
Health Kinesiology works with the Chinese system of meridians to rebalance the body, but also looks for the cause of the imbalance and corrects this. Muscle testing is used to assess the state of energy flow and by combining muscle testing with verbal questioning the cause of imbalances and the best way to correct them can be determined. Catherine qualified as a Health Kinesiologist in 2004.
Since 2005 Catherine’s interest and training has revolved around finding tools and techniques to empower her clients’ own self healing. These include Natural Nutrition, Life Coaching, Emotional Freedom Techniques and EmoTrance. All of these are client - centred in that they put the responsibility for healing back into the hands of the client. Natural Nutrition uses both diet and techniques to cleanse and then rejuvenate the body. EmoTrance and Emotional Freedom Techniques are fantastic empowering tools for restoring and rebalancing the energy systems to promote greater health on all levels. EmoTrance recognises that our emotions are feedback devices for our energy system, and by working with emotions and feelings within the body, balance and flow are restored. EmoTrance integrates well with Catherine's other therapies and because of its simplicity and effectiveness is included in most treatment sessions.
As well as treating clients and teaching self- help techniques on a one -to- one basis Catherine is a qualified EmoTrance trainer. She is also in the process of developing self- help workshops using tools and techniques from Emotional Freedom Techniques, Natural Nutrition, Muscle Testing and Goal mapping.
